Jamaica Customs eyes drone patrols as illicit trade robs nation of $26 billion

Jamaica Customs Agency is considering setting up a dedicated drone unit to patrol the island’s ports and coastline amid the country losing more than $26 billion annually in tax and excise revenue to illicit trade. Acting Commissioner of Customs Kirk Benjamin said it was part of a broader modernisation drive.
