Jamaica’s 15 Pan Am Medals a Sign of Progress – Samuda

Jamaica wrapped up a their campaign at the Junior Pan American Games in Asuncion on Saturday, securing its 15th medal of the tournament thanks to a determined performance by Tyler Tracy in wrestling.

Competing in the men’s freestyle 74 kilogramme category, Tracy delivered a gritty and composed showing throughout the competition.

After narrowly missing out on the final, Tracy rebounded with poise in the bronze medal match, defeating Paraguay’s Joao Maldonado 10-nil to claim the podium spot.

Tracy’s bronze not only marked a personal milestone in his career but also etched his name into the annals of Jamaican sports history.

President of the Jamaica Olympic Association, Christopher Samuda, hailed the achievement as a sign of progress.

Jamaica’s 15-medal haul was comprised of 4-gold, 5-silver, and 6-bronze.

Samuda says with young athletes like Tracy making waves, the future looks bright for Team Jamaica across the sporting spectrum.
