Dancehall sensation Jayds is keeping the momentum alive with the release of his second single, A Wah, from his forthcoming 8-track EP Beast, slated for an October drop. The new track follows the gritty title single Beast, which premiered in February and has since grown into a viral hit. Its official video, released in June, has already racked up more than 790,000 views on YouTube, while the track continues to surge on TikTok, where it has been featured in over 1,700 fan-made videos.
Jayds, a core member of the 4th Genna camp, has been carving out a reputation for sharp lyricism and versatile delivery. Speaking earlier with Prism Marketing Consultants, he promised that the upcoming project would be “a breath of fresh air—experimenting with new styles, cadences, and topics,” offering fans deeper insight into his artistry. The Beast EP, executively produced by Haunted Music and distributed by 21st Hapilos, is expected to spotlight a mix of hard-hitting themes ranging from street life and loyalty to money and friendships, with contributions from an impressive roster of producers including One Time, 9 Miles Records, Cashflow Rinse, and Gerusalem Music.
The year has also been a busy one for Jayds beyond the studio. He toured extensively alongside Aidonia across North America, Europe, and the Caribbean, and delivered a standout performance at Aidonia’s 20th Anniversary celebration at New York’s UBS Arena.
With A Wah now in circulation, distributed through Hapilos and already featured on several notable Spotify playlists, Jayds is strategically positioning himself for a breakthrough moment. As Beast continues to climb in visibility across digital platforms and anticipation builds for the EP’s release, Jayds appears set to solidify his place among dancehall’s new wave of hitmakers.
