JFF Boss Surprised by PFJL’s CEO’s Decision to Resign

JFF President Michael Ricketts says the sudden resignation of PFJL head Owen Hill has come as a huge surprise to him.

Ricketts told Nationwide Sports today, that he was part of a meeting with Hill in the last three days and he got the impression that he was looking forward with optimism to the 2025/26 season of the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League season.

Ricketts says it’s important that the PFJL gets someone to lead the organization as quickly as possible even if only in the short term, and that process he says is already underway.

Hill’s resignation comes three months after Chris Williams announced his intentions to step down as Chairman, effective August 31.

Only last week Hill guided the proceedings at the launch to start the 2025/26 season of the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League at the offices of the Jamaica Football Federation in New Kingston.

Hill’s resignation takes effect on September 30.
