Thirty-seven days have passed since the murder of 69-year-old Evadnie Jones and her 39-year-old son, Luke Jones, but their case remains cold, with no resolution in sight and little hope for closure. On the night of July 4, the Jones duo was gunned down in the yard of their Cedar Street home, both victims of a violent, drive-by shooting. Love News spoke with Commissioner of Police Dr. Richard Rosado, who initially condemned the act as a “crime against humanity.”

Dr. Richard Rosado, Commissioner of Police: “I do know that the investigators are still trying to put together the evidential material that they have collected. They still trying to establish who the individuals who are responsible for the shooting. So it’s still an ongoing investigation. We do know that he is in the US. We have not confirmed if he has returned back to Belize, but we do believe that he’s still in the US.”
It is believed that there is a linkage between the Jones murder and that of Tyrone Meighan.
