KINGSTON FOOTBALL Academy (KFA) picked up two age-group titles at the recently concluded 2025 Target USA Cup, as they won the boys’ U13 Copper division as well as the boys’ U17 Silver division titles.
All five of the KFA teams which were registered for the Target USA Cup had advanced past the group stages in their respective divisions, recording two quarter-final appearances, a semi-final appearance, and two title-winning campaigns.
KFA took the under-17 title in dominant fashion, setting an unbeaten record along the way.
They swept through the group stage with three wins from as many games, scoring 15 goals while only conceding two.
The knockout stages were more of the same as they crushed Minneapolis United 8-0 in the quarter-finals, before recording the same dominant scoreline to get the better of Twin Cities Rush in the semi-finals.
In the division’s final, KFA walked away with the title as they got the better of CC United 3-1.
It was a similar story in the under-13 division, as they claimed the crown with an unbeaten record.
KFA would ease through the group stages with four wins from as many games, scoring 21 goals in the process while only conceding once.
They got the better of St Paul Blackhawks 4-0 in the quarter-finals, before edging Prior Lake SC 1-0 in a tense semi-final fight.
They would come out the better against Kickers FC in a five-goal thriller in the final, taking the win 4-1 at the end.
Though their claimed only two titles, KFA enjoyed deep runs in their other three campaigns.
They made it to the semi-finals of the boys’ U15 Bronze division, making it past the quarter-finals when Big River First Nation forfeited the match.
They were, however, turned back by eventual champions MapleBrook SC 9-4.
In the boys’ under-13 Gold division, KFA advanced from their group as runners-up, with two wins and a loss.
They would, however, lose their quarter-final match against CS Montréal Centre 4-0, their biggest defeat in the division.
It was the same story in the boys’ under-14 Silver division, as they finished second in their group with two wins and a loss to advance to the quarter-finals.
This time, they came head-to-head with WYO 307, who took the win in a tightly contested 3-2 victory.
