Exclusive distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Jamaica, Magna Motors, will provide all members of the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association, JMEA, with special access to commercial fleet solutions and regular vehicle options.
The deal offers exclusive pricing and tailored services to support the mobility needs of Jamaica’s manufacturing and export sectors, according to a release announcing the deal which is covered by a memorandum of understanding between Magna and the JMEA.
The tenure of the agreement was not specified.
Managing Director of Magna Motors Luz Tejada said as the first car dealership to become a JMEA partner, Magna was pioneering a new level of collaboration between the automotive sector and Jamaica’s key industries.
“The agreement includes all Hyundai models within our passenger and commercial line-up, ensuring that JMEA members have access to a wide range of vehicles to suit their individual and business needs,” Tajeda told the Financial Gleaner.
Magna Motors dealership has Hyundai Santa Fe, Tucson, Creta and Venue in its SUV line-up and the Accent, Elantra and Sonata in its range of sedans. Its commercial catalogue includes the HD72, HD75, HD65, H1 Panel, and passenger vehicles.
JMEA members will get the standard five-year or 100,000-kilometre warranty offered to all purchasers, but Tejada said the agreement includes exclusive perks, such as special discounts, meaning, preferential pricing on all Hyundai models. A three-year extended service package is also on offer, compared to the standard two-year package for other customers.
Magna Motors is also offering customised fleet and commercial plans that will include fleet discounts, financing options, and priority servicing, in addition to early access to special offers, new model launches, and exclusive corporate events. Participating JMEA members will also get additional after-sales support and dedicated account management. There is no minimum purchase required, Tajeda said.
Headquartered in the Dominican Republic, Magna Motors is in its 10th year in Jamaica, after taking over the Hyundai dealership from Key Motors. Its most investments include new headquarters and showrooms in New Kingston that was commissioned post-COVID, followed by expanded operations with the setting up of its Montego Bay showroom, recently.
At the signing of the fleet agreement, JMEA President Sydney Thwaites described the pact as a “game changer”, with expected savings on transportation costs.
“Manufacturers and exporters depend on efficient logistics to move raw materials, finished products, and personnel. This partnership with Magna Motors not only secures special pricing for our members but also provides them with dedicated vehicle solutions designed to meet their specific needs,” he said.
