Police are investigating a fire in Seine Bight Village, Stann Creek, that occurred on Monday, October 27, that left two homes completely destroyed and another partially damaged.
Around 1:49 p.m., officers arrived on the main road in the village to find 2 wooden houses fully engulfed in flames and one neighbor’s partially burned. One of the destroyed homes belonged to 30-year-old Talisha Tamara Castillo, a housekeeper, who lived there with her three daughters.
She told Love News that the fire started from inside her house, which spread to the other house in her yard, then to a nearby neighbor’s house
Fortunately, no one was inside at the time of the incident. The neighbor’s house is owned by 53-year-old Customs Officer Therese Martinez, who reported losses estimated at $150,000 in property and belongings.
Castillo is asking for any assistance her # is 628-9873. The value of the other two homes has not yet been determined, and no injuries were reported. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
