National Garifuna Council Meets Cayo Branches on Familiarization Tour

Over the weekend, the National Garifuna Council (NGC) continued its countrywide branch visits with the latest stop in the Cayo district. The NGC held meetings on Saturday with its Belmopan and San Ignacio branches. Following the selection of a new executive board on July 12, the NGC, under the leadership of newly elected president Alex Nolberto, began a familiarization tour. Nolberto explained that the meetings allow the new executive an opportunity to hear from branch members, and also to get them apprised of the vision and actions being taken to advance the work of the organization in the coming months.

The tour began in the south with meetings held in Hopkins, Dangriga, Seine Bight, Georgetown, Punta Gorda Town, and Barranco. Other meetings are planned for San Pedro on Saturday, August 23, Belize City on Sunday, August 24, and in Orange Walk Town and Libertad Village in the Corozal District, on Saturday, August 30.
