NCB Midas Debit Cards to Be Deactivated on March 31

National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited, NCB, says as previously communicated, all NCB Midas debit cards will be deactivated on March 31, 2025.

In a statement, NCB says after March 31, the cards will no longer be accepted for transactions at automated banking machines or point of sale terminals.

The NCB Midas card was first introduced in the early 2000s and has been in use for over two decades.

As banking technology has advanced, NCB has moved to adopt the NCB Visa debit card, a newer, more secure and more widely-accepted option.

Customers still using NCB Midas cards are encouraged to upgrade to the NCB Visa debit card ahead of the March 31 deadline to avoid any disruption in service.

The NCB Visa debit card offers several key features, including contactless payments, real-time transaction alerts via email and wider acceptance online and overseas.

NCB says cards can be upgraded at any NCB branch or NCB Remote Service Centres at MegaMart locations islandwide on select weekends.

The bank says customers should take along a valid government-issued ID and Taxpayer Registration Number.
