New San Narciso Police Station to Strengthen Security in Northern Belize

Corozal District will be A whole lot safer with the installation of a new police station in the community of San Narciso Village. Yesterday A contract was signed between CEO of the Ministry of Economic Transformation, Carlos Pol and LV and Sons Construction Limited for the construction of a new police station. This project is part of the Belize Integral Security Programme (BISP), which is aimed to enhance citizen security. the BZ$60 million budget funded by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) who’s goal is to strengthen policing across the country for effective crime combat and enhance its ability to ensure citizen safety.

The police station is projected to cost around BZ$928,509.49 and will provide over 3,000 square feet of dedicated workspace. The police station will also be equipped with modern amenities as well as a domestic violence unit room, a secure evidence room, private interview rooms, and much more. The new station will also accommodate for workers stationed there. Thirteen villages and approximately 40,000 residents within the following communities are to be served by station. The signing was witnessed by the Minister of Home affairs Kareem Musa.
