Nicholson Targets 20th Reggae Boyz Goal Against Ecuador

Reggae Boyz striker, Shamar Nicholson, says he’s hoping to get his 51st cap and 20th goal when Jamaica’s senior men’s football team take on Ecuador in their group “B” encounter of the Copa America in Las Vegas, on Wednesday.

The Boyz opened their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Mexico, but Nicholson says they have already put that loss behind them.

Meanwhile, nine time champions Brazil were held to a goalless draw by Costa Rica in their Group ‘D’ clash, on Monday night.

The Brazilians dominated possession and came close to scoring on several occasion, but just could not find the back of the net.

In the other Group ‘D’ game, played at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, Colombia defeated Paraguay 2-1, through goals from
Daniel Muñoz and Jefferson Lerma.

The competition continues later on Tuesday with defending champions Argentina looking for a second straight victory when they face Chile at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey.

Canada and Peru will square off in the other Group ‘A’ game at the Children Mercey Park in Kansas City.
