Ollie Pope slammed a blistering century to steer England into a position of command against West Indies on the opening day of the second cricket test Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
Pope belted 121 off 167 balls with 15 fours and a six as England at sports time reached 400 for 8.after they were sent to bat.
Pope starred in a second wicket stand of 105 with Ben Duckett who set an electric pace with 71 from 59 balls, and this came after England lost opener Zak Crawley to the third ball of the test match without a run on the board.
Ben Stoke 69 and Harry Brook 36 also weighed in with good contributions against Alzarrie Joseph and Kevin Sinclair who have so far taken two wickets.
Jaydon Seales, Shamar Joseph and Kavem Hodge have taken one wicket apiece.
Sinclair was a late inclusion into the eleven, he came in for Gudakesh Motie who is suffering with the flu.
