One dead, one injured crossing highway near Maloney

A man was killed and another injured after being hit by a car on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway near the Maloney traffic lights late Saturday.

Police said around 11.55 p.m., a black Honda Vezel was heading west when it struck two men crossing the highway. One man, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene, while the other, Saleem Mohammed, was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigations are ongoing.
