The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) has issued a traffic advisory regarding the overnight transportation of oversized truss segments for the new Santa Familia Bridge. The movement will affect several major highways, and drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution. The extra-wide and oversized segments, which are approximately 22 feet wide, will be transported by M&M Engineering Consultants Ltd. The journey will begin after 9 o’clock tonight, and will travel from the area of the Haulover Bridge to Georgeville, Cayo District. The planned route will include the Philip Goldson Highway, the Boom-Hattieville Road, and the George Price Highway. Due to the load’s width, it will occupy nearly the entire highway, requiring oncoming traffic to pull off the road. Drivers should be on the lookout for flashing lights and escorts. The MIDH asks the public to reduce their speed, heed all warnings, and follow the instructions of the escort vehicles. This transport is being conducted in compliance with new Department of Transport regulations for moving such large loads. All drivers are encouraged to exercise due care and attention for their safety and the safety of others.
