Police officers recovered several stolen packages following a robbery in the Belmont district on Thursday afternoon.
Around 2pm, officers from the Port of Spain Criminal Investigations Department (CID) – Area East, together with the Joint Operations Patrol Task Force, responded to a report of a robbery along Serraneau Road.
According to police reports, a courier service delivery driver was making deliveries in the area when he was approached by several men. The assailants stole multiple packages before fleeing the scene via a flight of stairs on Savary Street.
A search of the area led officers to an abandoned concrete structure, where they found several Amazon boxes containing various items. The recovered packages were confirmed to be those stolen during the robbery.
Investigations are continuing. Police are urging anyone with information to contact the Belmont CID at 612-2470 or call 555, 999, or 911.
