Pooran Scores Half Century in Win to Close IPL Season

West Indies batsman, Nicholas Pooran, hit a half century to help Lucknow Super Giants to an 18-runs win over the Mimbai Indians in their final game of the 2024 Indian Premier League season at the Wankhede stadium, today.

Pooran came to the crease with the score on 69 for 3 and shared in a 109 runs fourth wicket partnership with captain Kl Rahul.

The 29-year-old, Pooran hit 75 off 29 balls, which included five fours and eight sixes, while Rahul made 55.

Nuwan Thushara and Piyush Chawla took three wickets each for Mumbai.

Chasing 215 to win, Mumbai made 196 for 6. Rohit Sharma made 68 and Naman Dhir 62 not out.

Naveen-ul-Haq and Ravi Bishnoi bagged two wickets each for Lucknow.

Final scores, Lucknow Super Giants 214 for 6, Mumbai Indians 196 for 6.

Pooran was named man of the match.

He says he’ll now turn his attention to the World Cup in the USA and Caribbean, starting June 1.
