Reggae singer Mortimer grieves the loss of his beloved mother

Reggae singer Mortimer says he has been crying all night, unable to sleep following news of his mother’s passing.  The grieving entertainer who is on his From Within Europe Tour, took to social media to share his heartbreak.  

In a post laced with sadness, Mortimer cursed cancer, sharing the emptiness he feels and the pain of not being able to say goodbye, because he is in France. ‘I have never felt so broken,’ he confessed, it hurts so bad, I don’t know what to do with this kind of pain.’

Mortimer’s post has since sparked an outpouring of love and support from fellow artistes.  Jah Vinci, referring to Mortimer as a brother sent condolences, to the singer and his family, writing in part, ‘I pray Jah be with you and your family during this testing time.’ Lila Ike’s wrote that she was sending strength and love.

Other notable artistes, including Romain Virgo, Omi and Dre Island, also paid their respects. Omi’s comment featured a dove, praying hands, and a crying emoji, while Dre Island wrote, “Jah know family, love and strength to the I.” Natel joined in, offering support to the grieving singer.

Mortimer’s From Within Tour culminates at the Ruhr Reggae Summer Festival in Germany on August 23.
