Shanieka Ricketts and Omar McLeod have scored early wins at the Paavo Nurmi Games, a World Continental Gold meeting currently underway in Turkey.
Ricketts secured the women’s triple jump with a leap of 14.17 while McLeod, who is making a comeback from a long term injury, won the 110m hurdles in13.25 seconds.
The third Jamaican at the meet, Brittany Anderson, a training partner of McLeod’s, did 12.93 seconds for fourth place in her heat of the women’s sprint hurdles .
In the final, Anderson finished fifth in 12.87 seconds as 2019 world champion Nia Ali won in 12.48.
