A new era in Jamaica’s cricket will begin on Tuesday when former national player and selector Robert Haynes takes over as head coach of the Jamaica Scorpions.
Haynes had long been identified as the new coach, but could not be officially announced in his new role since the current coach Andrew Richardson is still under contract.
Richardson’s two year contract expires on Monday.
Haynes will have his hands full trying to turn around the fortunes of the Scorpions who lost all but two of their games last season.

The Scorpions have been staging trial games under the supervision of Morgan and other members of the coaching staff.
