Ancel Roget has been re-appointed as President General of the Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union (OWTU).
It is his seventh consecutive term. He will now guide the union until 2028.
Guardian Media understands Roget’s nomination was unopposed.
This year’s nominations, which took place on Monday, saw four women securing positions on the executive committee for the first time, alongside increased representation from younger members.
Among the key changes, Stefan Quashie of T&TEC Tobago has been appointed Vice President, while Crystal Boland from National Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd takes over as Executive Trustee. Additionally, Jonathan Bowen from T&TEC Port of Spain, who previously served as Executive Trustee, has been promoted to Vice President.
Outgoing executive members are Marcus Cordner (Vice President), and Raymond Huggins (Executive Trustee).
The says it aims to strengthen its advocacy for workers’ rights.
