Royalton Resorts sets 2026 reopening dates for Jamaican properties

Royalton Hotels & Resorts has confirmed reopening dates for its Jamaican properties following extensive hurricane recovery efforts after Hurricane Melissa. Guests can expect Royalton Negril, Royalton Hideaway Negril, and Grand Lido Negril to reopen on August 25, 2026, while Royalton Blue Waters and Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters are scheduled to welcome visitors starting September 15, 2026.

In a statement, the company said the staggered reopening reflects a “safety-first” approach, ensuring both staff and guests return to fully restored, secure, and operational resorts. Guests with existing bookings will have flexible options, including penalty-free cancellations, rebooking, or relocation to other Royalton properties in the Caribbean.

The company also highlighted its efforts to support employees and local communities in the immediate aftermath of the storm. Clean water produced through its Reverse Osmosis Plants was made available to those in need, temporary lodging was offered to staff whose homes were severely affected, and monetary relief was provided to employees who experienced significant losses. Grocery care packages were distributed across all resort staff, while additional benefits and financial support helped ensure workers felt supported, valued, and reassured during a difficult time.

Beyond the immediate relief, Royalton said more than 200 employees remain on-site to oversee maintenance, and key staff have been deployed to other resorts across the region to gain additional training and experience. According to the company, these measures ensure that when the resorts reopen, employees are fully prepared to deliver the high standard of service Royalton is known for.
