San Pedro Woman Fined After Pleading Guilty to Theft of Sneakers, Seafood and Clothes

Kimane Rosita Ashanti Garbutt, also known as “Kimmy Boo,” appeared before Magistrate Mannan Dennison yesterday without legal representation. The 21-year-old was initially charged with theft, and after changing her plea from not guilty to guilty, she was fined $500 plus $5.00 cost of court to be paid by November 30 or she will spend three months in jail.

The charge dates back to 2024 when she was accused of stealing various items, including a Vapormax Nike tennis valued at $200, a pair of Jordan sneakers for $100, a Beats Bluetooth speaker $300, five pounds of fish, $40, one pound of lobster, $30, and 12 pieces of clothing valued at $60. The San Pedro Town receptionist explained in court that after spending a night with Robert Palacio, he promised her money but failed to keep his word, leaving her at his home all day despite her needing to catch a boat to return home. She also acknowledged that she took the items before leaving.
