Six arrested for illegal immigration in Oropouche

Six Venezuelan nationals, were arrested yesterday during police operations.

Police said the anti-crime exercise took place between 5 am and 9 am on August 9 in the Oropouche and Fyzabad districts.

At Redbrick Trace, Dow Village, South Oropouche, officers arrested a 25-year-old Trinidadian man of Pablito Trace, Grants Road, Rousillac, for obstruction and resisting arrest. Six men, aged 24 to 30, from Tucupita, Venezuela, were also arrested for illegal immigration.

Searches were carried out under Sections 8 and 12 of Legal Notice 241 of the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2025.
