Jamaica’s musical firepower continues to burn bright on the international scene, as six dancehall artists have earned nominations at the 2025 African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA). Masicka, Shenseea, and Spice lead the charge with two nominations each, while Popcaan, Skillibeng, and Shaneil Muir each secure one nod—solidifying Jamaica’s continued dominance across the Afro-Caribbean entertainment landscape.
Now celebrating its 11th year, the AEAUSA honours African and Caribbean excellence in music, film, and culture, highlighting those shaping the global entertainment narrative. This year, all five core acts—Masicka, Spice, Shenseea, Skillibeng, and Popcaan—landed nominations for Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist, reaffirming the island’s reign in the category. Spice and Shenseea also stand out as contenders for International Artist of the Year, a testament to their expanding crossover appeal and growing global influence.
Masicka’s double nod—including People’s Choice—reflects his surging fan momentum and year of impactful releases, while Shaneil Muir’s nomination in the same category signals her rising recognition among international audiences. Skillibeng and Popcaan’s inclusion further cements the genre’s reach, showcasing a generation of artists who are both preserving Jamaica’s authentic sound and redefining its boundaries worldwide.
Voting officially opened on October 17, 2025, and runs until December 15, 2025, with winners to be announced on December 20 via AEAUSA’s website and social media platforms. Fans are encouraged to support their favourite nominees by visiting www.aeausa.net
As the countdown begins, Jamaica once again stands as a cultural powerhouse—its artists not only making waves across genres but also shaping the sound of global entertainment.
