Yesterday, 66-year-old, Rafael Cowo, a resident of Taylor’s Alley was sentenced to 8 months for 0.24 grams of crack cocaine. He was unrepresented when he appeared before the Chief Magistrate Deborah Rogers in Court #1 and pled guilty to possession of controlled drugs. On Friday last around 5:55 p.m., police officers were patrolling on Orange Street, Belize City, when their attention was drawn to a slim-built man wearing a blue T-shirt and black pants acting suspiciously. Police say Rafael Cowo, was informed of a search to be conducted on him for suspected drugs. Upon searching, police found a white paper in his pants waist with what appeared to be some white rock substances suspected of being crack cocaine. This was not Cowo’s first conviction as court record showed he had several previous convictions for drugs.
