Fifteen-year-old Kia Harris, an art student at St. Catherine’s Academy, decided to share her talents with the babies in the Pediatric Unit at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. In what she called a passion project, the third former donated 10 handmade stuffed animals to the unit today. The animals, which took around a month to make, were made with hydro-polygene yarn to avoid setting off any allergic reactions. Harris handed the animals over to the Assistant Unit Manager, nurse Lucely Gillett, this afternoon.
Love News understands that Harris has a sister who is also working on a donation of art pieces to donate to the Pediatric Unit.
