Chronixx’s sophomore album Exile has debuted at No. 15 on the U.K. Official Album Downloads Chart, marking his highest-ever placement on that list. His first album, Chronology, peaked at No. 37 and remained on the chart for two weeks.
Despite the milestone, Exile sold fewer than 1,000 album-equivalent units in the U.K., according to data from the Official Charts Company, and did not make the main Official Albums Chart Top 100, which factors in physical sales, downloads, and streaming. For comparison, the last Jamaican album to enter that main chart was Koffee’s Gifted, which peaked at No. 7 in April 2022.
Chronology previously reached No. 69 on the U.K. midweek Albums Chart in July 2017, powered largely by physical and digital sales during a time when streaming had not yet overtaken downloads as the primary metric.
Internationally, Exile has performed strongly online—surpassing 1 million Spotify streams in just five days and holding the No. 1 spot on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Chart for a full week. The 16-track project, released independently via Forever Living Originals, has also dominated the Jamaica Apple Music Top Albums chart since its release on October 10.
World Music Views gave Chronixx’s Exile a 4 star rating calling it “A shedding. Chronixx is unlearning structure, dismissing sequence, and rejecting the comfort of expectation.”
