The West Indies beat Australia by 35 runs at the Queens Park Oval on Thursday-night in their final warm up game before the start of the ICC T20 World Cup.
The West Indies batting first posted 257 for 4 off their 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran led the way with 75 off 25 balls with five fours and eight sixes.
Pooran put on 90 for the second wicket with Johnson Charles who weighed in with 40. Captain Rovman Powell made a 25 ball 52 and Sherfane Rutherford 47 not out, against Adam Zampa 2 for 62.
The Aussies who played with only nine players, replied with 222 for 7. Josh Inglis topscored with 55, Nathan Ellis 39 and Ashtom Agar 28.
Vice captain Alzarri Joseph and Gudakesh Motie two wickets each for the West Indies.
The West Indies team will today travel to Guyana for their opening game in the World Cup against Papua New Guinea at Providence on Sunday.
