Jamaica will open their defense of the West Indies Under 19 cricket title tomorrow when they face the Windward Islands at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent in one of three opening round games starting at 9am Jamaica time.
The Leeward Islands versus Guyana at Park Hill and Barbados versus Trinidad and Tobago at Sion Hill are the other scheduled games in the opening round.
The Cricket West Indies Rising Stars tournament was scheduled to start on July 2 but was postponed due to the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines were among the countries affected which necessitated a delay and a subsequent alteration in the tournament format, the updated format will feature four rounds of two-day matches and five rounds of 50-over matches.
Despite the modifications, the tournament will still conclude on July 31 as initially planned, ensuring teams have a balance of match time to develop their skills and adequate time for recovery between.
The 50 over tournament of which Jamaica is also dfeending title holders will begin on July 23.
