Last night in this newscast, we told you of Joselyn Ricalde’s ordeal to rid herself of her abuser despite the couple broke up in March of this year. Ricalde,18, said she visited the Police station in Orange Walk three times, trying to obtain a restraining order against her abuser that we;’re calling “John Doe”, but she was directed to “come back and check with the magistrate’s court.” Ricalde says she grew tired of seeking a restraining order because all the incidences of abuse she suffered occurred during the weekends when the court was closed. Today, Assistant Superintendent, Stacy Smith spoke on the matter.

ASP Stacy Smith: “What I would have said is that the wanted posters that are posted on the police department is in relation to persons who charges would have been already prepared for. So if it is that you would have said that she made the report and you’re saying this is a physical injury, a stabbing injury. So certainly steps should have been taken and if that has not been done, I will inquire to see what is the nature of that.”
